HRAGNH Chapter Pursues New Structure
The Human Resources Assn. of Greater New Haven [HRAGNH] chapter leaders have begun a discussion with SHRM national staff and SHRM CT State Council to pursue a different organizational structure—a Member Service Area [MSA]—which would allow us to become a part of a larger and more stable host chapter. This new arrangement would provide our members with expanded benefits and professional support. We would need 2 – 3 leaders who could coordinate local programming. At this time, three leaders have volunteered to serve in that role.The first step in this process is to establish a relationship with a host chapter. There are two which have expressed an interest in pursuing the discussion. SHRM has formed MSAs in other parts of the country, so staff have detailed checklists and a comprehensive process that both a host chapter and a potential MSA would work within to make a final decision.
This process will not happen overnight, so we urge you to take advantage of professional development offerings of other SHRM chapters and be sure to check out the upcoming SHRM Tri-state Conference in May 2016.
